Write for us
We welcome pitches that help readers understand a sport more clearly: a rule that changes the rhythm of play, a tactical idea explained without jargon, or a comparison that makes two formats easier to tell apart.
What makes a good pitch
Suggest one specific, evergreen question and explain the answer you would give, who would find it useful and why your approach is distinct. Strong pitches use clear examples, handle exceptions honestly and do not depend on current results, unsupported claims or access to private information. We are interested in varied sports and reader-friendly explanations, not promotional copy.
Before you send it
Please pitch the idea before submitting a complete article. Tell us about relevant experience without claiming credentials you do not hold, and mention any commercial or personal connection to the subject. We do not promise publication, and we may shape an accepted idea with the writer.
Where to send a pitch
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a working title, a short outline and a brief note about your approach. Please do not send confidential information or material you lack permission to share.
Curiosity beats pretending you know the score
Sport gets more interesting when you can ask why a move worked, what a rule allows and what might happen next. We explain the details without assuming you already speak the language of the game.
