Editorial policy

Clear Sports Network aims to make sport easier to understand without overstating what an explanation can prove. We separate established rules and descriptions from interpretation, and make room for correction when we get something wrong.

Accuracy and clarity

We check factual claims against relevant, reliable material before publication, taking care with rule wording, terminology and the limits of a general explanation. We avoid invented statistics and do not imply that an example represents every team, competition or situation. When the details vary, we explain the variation or narrow the claim.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for readers, not to satisfy a partner or promote a product. Contributions, products or organisations do not receive favourable coverage in exchange for payment or access. If a relationship could reasonably affect how readers understand a piece, we disclose it clearly.

Corrections

If a reader spots an error or a confusing passage, they can contact us with the article title and the detail in question. We review the point, correct material errors and clarify wording where needed. Significant changes are noted in the article so readers can tell what has been updated.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid placements and other partner material are labelled where they appear, with wording that makes their commercial nature clear; they are kept distinct from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be AI-generated. Where that applies, we label the image and do not present it as documentary evidence of a real sporting event.

Our point of view

Curiosity beats pretending you know the score

Sport gets more interesting when you can ask why a move worked, what a rule allows and what might happen next. We explain the details without assuming you already speak the language of the game.
